William Taylor of the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History examined the remains of 85 horses buried between 1200 and 700 B.C. in Mongolia by the nomadic Deer Stone–Khirigsuur culture and found evidence of early equine dental care. Present Mongolia is the ‘second settlement’ of people who migrated from Mangala country after the Great Flood; it was a part of Gandhar kingdom also. The region where horses were first bred should be seen through ancient literature. Even, Alexander’s India invasion accounts offer some interesting points on this. The town of Buccaphalus was very close to Mangala country like the Deer Park; for the ancient world of 1200 and 700 B.C, a scholar should refer to the geographical situation as depicted in Ptolemy’s maps.
