According to Unesco, ‘The Statue of Liberty, a hollow colossus composed of thinly pounded copper sheets over a steel framework, stands on an island at the entrance to New York Harbor. It was designed by sculptor Frédéric Bartholdi in collaboration with engineer Gustave Eiffel, and was a gift from France on the centenary of American independence in 1876. …. Highly potent symbolic elements of the design include the United States Declaration of Independence, which the Statue holds in her left hand, as well as the broken shackles from which she steps……Atop its pedestal (designed by American architect Richard Morris Hunt), the Statue has welcomed millions of immigrants to the United States since it was dedicated in 1886….Édouard René de Laboulaye collaborated with Bartholdi for the concept of the Statue to embody international friendship, peace, and progress,…’..

There was a classical precedent for this type of statue; The Colossus of Rhodes, an ancient bronze statue which then stood on the bank of the river Scamander of Chandrabhaga having its two legs on two sides of the this river, marked the City of Sun, and the seat of worship of God Sun. Ships were passing below the two legs of this big statue. This hundred feet statue also helped guiding the ships. It stood close to the junction of the seas. Bartholdi had this statue in his mind when he made the proposal and succeeded in doing it with the help of Eiffel..
The Statue of Liberty holds the tabulae ansatae (the Document of Declaration of Independence) in her left hand that depicts the story of the Roman Libertas; the word tabulae ansatae originated from the ancient seat of worship of Isis and Magna Mater.
Tabulae—-refers to ‘Mt Tabor’; this mountain was the source of tamba means ‘Bronze’;
Ansatae—means, ‘hasta’ or hasta-kshar’ or ‘the hand-written’ ;
Tabulae ansatae thus refers to something written on a tamba or bronze plate; ancient royal declarations were then written on bronze plates covered with silk clothes. Seat of worship of Isis identifies ‘Sse’ or Sesha island; Sse was a Serpent God who lived in the Underworld region near ancient Jerusalem. Similarly, Magna Mater means ‘Maa Mangala’ or Mother( or Maa means ‘Mater’ or matru) Mangala. Later this Goddess whose seat of worship refers to Mt Caucasus region, was called ‘Duarbasini’.
