Archaeologists Peter Veth and Jo McDonald of the University of Western Australia , who found artifacts, and rock paintings of snakes, turtles, and human figures at Karnatukul, a rock shelter in a subregion of the Western Desert known as the Little Sandy Desert, now claim that humans arrived on Australia’s northern shore around 65,000 years ago, Science Magazine’s report has been quoted by AN on 26th Sept’28.
Australia is the ‘second settlement’ of the migrants who left their ‘first homes’ only after a volcanic eruption in 8th or 9th c A.D. only. It is impossible to find human settlements in Australia in a time as suggested by Peter and Jo. Most of the place-names in Australia are found in India also. Australia stands for the ancient Astola only.
