This Macedonian conqueror does not belong to the present Greece. Indian puranas know Macedonia as Matsya-desa, or the Fish–Country. Name of Calisthens is a combination of two names of places : Cali or Kali, and Sthense. Both these places are neighbourly to each other. Similarly, name of Alexander is also the combination of two place-names : Alika and Sundara. This can be verified from Asokan Roc Edicts also. This correctly shows that Macedonia and places which have gone into descriptions of Alexander’s India invasion accounts are outside Europe and the modern Egypt and Iran.
But modern historians’ writings on Alexander put a different picture. In the works of modern day scholars they do not know that the victory pillars which Alexander raised after his victory with Poros and other Indian kings still stand on the bank of the river Koa; they do not know that stone image of Alexander’s riding on the back of his horse Bacephalus has gone into the Temples of India where he built his town at Sangala. Even his white horse has entered into Indian puranas in the name of Dadhi-bahana, or the ‘Milk-coloured Burden of Animal’ . Some puranas call in in a corrupt name, i.e. ‘Dadhi-bamana;. Skanda purana knows this Macedonian king as Sikander, which shows that Alexander was a Skythian.
The fragments of the historians of Alexander which take the name of Arrian, Diodorus, Quinte-Curce, and Plutarch should first identify the nativity of these ancient writers,
Charès who was a chamberlain identifies the ancient Cheras who were Sea People of ancient history; Onesicrite, belonged to the group of philosophers from Sicrite or Socrates or the Saketa. Nearchus who was in charge of navigation, his name suggest that he was from Archosia region; Admirer of the Alexander, Aristobulus was from Boulas or Belles region ; while Ptolemy who was interested in battles, hailed from Tolla of the ancient world. The chronology of these authors does not pose any problem to establish to establish their regional identity vis-a-vis ancient Macedoena.
