Pier Paolo Petrone of Federico II University(Naples, Italy) Hospital and his colleagues spectroscopically analysed the red and black residues of the bones of the 300 victims which they recovered from boathouses near the Herculaneum waterfront, where these people are thought to have died in a pyroclastic surge measuring between 400 and 900 degrees Fahrenheit that moved at a speed of nearly 180 miles per hour. Scholars claim that these people died during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in A.D. 79; according to them, analysis of the bones reveals high concentrations of iron, for which they suggest that their blood had boiled due to strong heat of the volcanic eruption. Modern day City of Pompeii is located farther away from this spot.
While Herculaneum stands for the Pillars of Hercules in ancient India which Alexander visited during his campaign against India, Pompeii marks the name of a pond in ancient Caesarea. And both these places identify ancient Atalia, the seat of worship of deity Hera of the Greeks. This place was called Herat during Alexander’s time. Mt Vesuvius similarly identifies the ancient Etna near Atalia or Italia.
Whole of Europe is the second settlement of the ancient migrants.
