Vergil’s Moeris, and Meore of the Periplus are the same as the Hebr moreh; while the former addresses the settlements of Moeris people, Meore of the Periplus pinpoints the important city of this tribal people where trading were held; but Hebr moreh marks the symbolic presentation of the Moeris people with moreh or the ‘Mayura’, means the peacock.
In the Bible, this name is found in extensively use for describing different biblical events in the same geographical plain where Hill of Moreh stood, and this was the site where a war scene involving Gideon has been referred to. Name of Gideon is also important to explore moreh’s connection with Indian puranic tradition where Gideon represents the Indian Garuda clan.
The ‘water’ here does not mean the waters of the Jumna river(or the Jordan river), but the springs which is involved with the name of mayura; origin of the springs refers to the Bodhisattva who was born as a mayura, or the peacock, who by hitting the rocks of the region with its beak created the springs and solved the water problems of the desert region.
Biblical scholars see moreh with its different meanings according different events; according to them, Moriah is a Temple mound (eres hammoriyyah) ; the Pesh has eres ha emori, translated as the ‘land of the Amorites’ ; the LXX has ten gen ten hypselen, or ‘the high land’; the Vg has in terram visionis, or ‘the land of vision’. Moriah emphasises the term ‘yah’; and it always stands for ‘Yahweh’, and here it stands for Bodhisattva Mayura. The holocaust finds the eruption of the volcano, and the early morning departure of Abraham marks the ‘place’ (hammaqom) which again represents the fear of God. e-res refers to ‘Ras’ that separates the land of the mortals from the land of the immortals or the Gods. It is name of the river that identifies the ‘border’ of the Jerusalem on the north; and emori means ‘mayura’; terram visionis refers to ‘Aram’ v-isionis , the latter being the God Essenes which sometimes refers to the ‘tongue’ or ‘laha’ – ‘laha’ , a word that defines the ‘outward elongated movement of the tongue’ (olah!) which stand for the volcano in Jerusalem.
The Qumran Essenes derived directly from those Hasideans who abandoned the Maccabees and followed the Righteous Teacher; The Hebr title is given to this figure, moreh ha-sedeq, translated as ‘Teacher of Righteousness’; this points to the Buddha directly from whose name has been derived the term, ‘Arhat’, and Yahweh.
Hebr hammoreh lise daqah has been translated as ‘teacher of justice’; as Moreh means teacher or diviner.
