Pliny in NH(Bk: IV) mentions Rama’s Forehead which was then towards Cyrene. He takes this name along with the geographical plain of the People of Bulis, Peloponnese, Mt Helicon, Shrine of Zeus of Olympus, Crossing to island of Crete, the ports of Anthedus and Bucephalus, Gulf Megara washing the whole of Attica, Thebes, Aulis harbour, M Oreta, Thessaly, Mygdonia, Mt Taurus, Hind Kush, Medes, Sea of Marmara on the east, Abode of the race of pygmies, Women’s harbour, Rivers of the Bargus and Syrmus, town of Cassopo and the temple of Jupiter Cassius, Teleboi-des, Same, Gulf of Malea, Island of the Blest, Mt Ida, Chryse and Gaudos, Morea facing Attica, Abantias, Fair Island, Holy Island, Coelos, Scythians land, Fair Mouth, Cave Dwellers, Rama’s Head Cape, Cytae, Essedones, White Island, Parapanisus, Caledonian forest, Thule, Six Islands of Gods, and Erythrea.
This gives an idea of the ancient geographical situation of some places which have been largely distorted in historical narratives of the ‘inhabited world’; and today it is beyond imagination of a lay man to understand why such wrongs have been done to geographical history of human civilization
