Helen Farr, a member of the University of Southampton’s Black Sea Maritime Archaeological Project, found a shipwreck, which the team after its radiocarbon test dates to 400 B.C. Scholars of the team say that the vessel resembles one depicted on a Greek vase dated to 480 B.C. The team members created a 3-D map of the ship. Arch.News quoting BBC News reported it.
The findings of the team cannot be taken into belief because they dates the ship to 400 B.C., a time that never reflects any maritime activities in the present Black Sea region. The ancient trade route did not cover that region which can be verified from the map of the Periplus itself
