This world heritage site of Cote d’lvoire at Mount Nimba announces its historical link with ‘nimba’, name of a ‘tree’ which is worshipped because this Tree is attached with enlightenment of the Buddha Sumedha. Therefore, d’lvoire is ‘durlabha’ means ‘the rarest’. The medicinal use of this tree is well recognised in ancient treaties.
Unesco finds it as ‘a veritable « water tower » with about fifty springs between the Côte d’Ivoire and Guinea’; The property includes almost the totality of the massif of Nimba located in Guinea and the Côte d’Ivoire. English translation or the botanical name of this tree, Azadirachta indica misleads world history when the translational identity of the ‘tree’ does not refer to its original habitat which is linked to both Gaya and Cetiya..
