This world heritage site of Carpathins region is very interestingly covers 12 countries like Germany, Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Italy, Ukraine, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania, and Spain ; Unesco says, ‘Since the end of the last Ice Age, European Beech spread from a few isolated refuge areas in the Alps, Carpathians, Dinarides, Mediterranean and Pyrenees over a short period of few thousand years in a process that is still ongoing….’.
‘The Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians include ten separate masstifs located along the 185 km long axis from the Rakhv mountains and Chornohora ridge in Ukraine over the Poloniny Ridge(Slovakia) to the Vibhorlat Mountains in Slovakia. The ancient Beech Forests of Germany include five locations. And Unesco added forests of Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, and Italy etc to it, The following areas fall in this peculiar forest region, and they can be very clearly seen through the ancient lands in these names from where the migrants faced forced migration and thereafter reached and settled in different parts of Europe giving old names to their ‘second homelands’.
Carpathians identifies the ancient Capota or the Kapotika region near Dan and Danaan (Danarides) settlements of Troy linked with the story of Pyrene, daughter of King Benrycius(ancient Babylon/Byblos) and a lover of Heracles. Her tomb erected by Heracles stands in the same Oxus region where Alexander built the city near it in the name of his horse Bucephalus.
