Hungary’s world heritage site at Budapest is seen through the separate structural characteristics of its former cities: Pest, Buda and Óbuda, situated on the bank of the river Danube; Unesco says, ‘This stretch of the Danube has been the location of human settlement since the Palaeolithic. It was the site of the Roman city of Aquincum, situated to the north of the inscribed property which comprises parts of two originally quite separate cities: Buda on the spur on the right bank and Pest on the plain on the left bank……the Buda side as well as the inclusion of Margaret Island and the extension of the protected area up to the Grand Boulevard (Nagykörút)… illustrates two significant periods of history’.
Here the Royal Palace is known as Kiralyi-palota and the Royal Castle as Kirilyi Var; according to scholars, Kiralyi-palota is as same as the German Konigliche Burg; but is not correct. Budapest’s Castle District is known as Várnegyed. King Bela IV was the King of Pest who built this Castle Buda after its devastation in 1241-2.
Budapest very clearly identifies its root in ‘Buda-Pest’ means ‘Buddha-vast’ or the place that is linked with the land of the Buddhas; Danube identifies itself with the River Dan which was then flowing in the region of the Buddhas; Buddha was born in the Dan settlement at Kapila-vast; his father Sudho-dana was a Dan chief whose brother was known as Suklo-dana, and his palace priest was Drona or Doan who was a Danite. While Obuda marks biblical Obadah or Abadana of Pali, Magyr is exactly as same as the Mrigdal of the Bible and Mudgal of both Pali and Indian puranas. It was a place of the Dan-people falling under the route of Exodus; Matthias Corvinus is identified with Matias or the Maithil and Corvinus with Kavi and Karunas. Cracow is another interesting name that identifies itself with Buddha Kraku-chandra. All names are placed in one compact geographical region of Buddha-vast, Diha-vast, and Abadan near the settlements of Dan.
Grand Boulevard (Nagykörút)—Boule(name of a place as well as name of a tree); and Nyagrodha also identifies the Var and the Tree of Wisdom.
Kiralyi- means ‘Kiriya’ which refers to ‘Three Ways’ i.e dan(gift), sila(conduct) and bhabana(thought); the three also identifies three ancient places; it may also refer to Kiratas, a tribe;
Várnegyed—Varana fort/ also refers to alphabets and the Sage Kapila of Dan settlements.
Bela—Name of a sacred place; a neighbouring place of Danites.
Aquincum—Kanaka/Kanaka-sthala; kanaka means ‘golden’; it has various name-forms. ‘Aqi’ means ‘ark’ (Ic in Turkish language) or the surya(seray in Turkish language)-kshetra(means ‘place’) which identifies the City of Sun. Seray Meydani marks the Seir and Madra or Midian same as Medina; surya means the ‘sun’.
Andrassy—Andhaka tribe; Andia or Andhaka country, and Andhaka forest near Antilo.
