History of the 3rd millennium Indus Valley region is linked to this Mohenjodaro archaeological heritage site of Pakistan. This world heritage site forms the base of mistakes of all historical studies in the world, and is alone responsible to have misled academic scholarship in various other branches of human knowledge to a great extent.
According to Unesco, ‘ archaeological ruins are located on the right bank of the Indus River, 510 km north-east from Karachi, and 28 km from Larkana city, Larkana District in Pakistan’s Sindh Province. The property represents the metropolis of Indus civilization, which flourished between 2,500-1,500 BC in the Indus valley and is one of the world’s three great ancient civilizations. …..Moenjodaro comprises two sectors: a citadel area in the west where the Buddhist stupa was constructed with unbaked brick over the ruins of Moenjodaro in the 2nd century AD, and to the east, the lower city ruins spread out along the banks of the Indus….’.
Historians have done tremendous researches on this river from whose name ‘India’ has received its name. And academics revere to one opinion that this river has disappeared. But in reality, this river refers to the river Daya on bank of which Asoka fought his famous Kalinga War in world history against the Romans of the ancient world most of whose heroes by this time had migrated to Sihmala island.
River Sindhu refers to the river Indus itself ; Ptolemy has given a very clear geographical description of Indus river’s seven mouths and its sources in detail. All tributaries of this river including its point of meeting with other rivers like the Scamander(Chandra) and Saraswati(Styx) tells the story of the origin of the land of the human civilization; speaking on its disappearance means lack of academic scholarship to correctly identify this ancient river that still maintains its stream on its usual course in spite of many changes it has suffered through ages.
Name Mohenjodaro identifies (Maha)Anjana-vana of Saketa which was then situated on the bank of this river then flowing in the ancient Kosala kingdom, Cos of other ancient texts. Koa refers to its other name from which it bifurcated itself at Baccaphalus where Alexander built the famous town in the name of his horse. Anjanavana also identifies the Mt Anjana and the Sakyan settlements of Devadaha and its king Anjana who was father of Maha-Maya, mother of the Buddha.
Saketa itself holds the story of the ancient Ajodhya and the birthplace of Rama, or the ancient Rome. At present this city marks the capital city of Odisha at Bhubaneswar and the river Daya flows nearby.
