Serbia’s world heritage site at Stari Ras and Sopacani refers to four separate components: Sopoćani Monastery, Djurdjevi Stupovi Monastery, Holy Apostles St Peter, and St Paul Church (St Peter’s Church), and the Town of Ras; and they are located in the Raska region. History of these four components does not reflect anything relating to Byzantine art and culture as Unesco scholarship mentions.

Ancient Ras or Ros which historians know same as Arsa or Urasa identifies the river Ros of the Avesta which separates the region of the mortals from the regions of the immortals. While region of the mortals marks ancient Babylon on bank of this river, the other side of its southern bank pinpoints the Mahasala same as Mahanaim and Jerusalem region of the Bible. Hiouen Tsiang calls it U-la-shi again the same as river Ulay or the Adulis port of the Periplus. Pliny quoting Megasthenes calls its people Arsagalitae. Ptolemy mentions Arsa as a region between the rivers Indus and the Bidaspes with its two cities : Ithagouros and Taxiala. Alexander’s historians find its ruler Arsakes whose land was adjoining to Abisares. Serbia thus is the second home of the ancient Abisares.

As this place finds its primordial position versified in most of the ancient literature in different name-forms, its identification by scholars do not match with its real scriptural identity. It is as same as ancient Babylon, it is as same as Sita-vana or Sitabon or hermitage of Sage Balmiki identifying Bahika or Bahlika again the same as Byblos; Catherine Monsatery also identifies this place like Ophir, the region of the Blue Lotus(Nile or Utpal).

Raska identifies the Asmakam and Novi is as same as the Navi because this place marks its geographical situation at the centre of the earth. Stari Ras therefore is identical with Sita or Santaros, the site of the hermitage of Sage Balmiki on this river Sita same as the river Ros.

Old Serbia along the Raska gorge and the whole regions of Zeta and Bosnia on the west and Kosovo and Metohija on the south describe the history of the ancient mariners homeland from where they migrated..
