Ceylonese Chronicles and Pali texts remain as an isolated area for research works; scholars all over the world including scholars from Sri Lanka and India are not mindful of its contents in which valuable accounts on world’s two most ancient Kingdoms: Magadha and Kosala, where the Buddha spent most of which times in 6th c B.C. are well preserved. .
It is most unfortunate that western scholars who translated the Ceylonese Chronicles doubted its contents to the extent that they advised scholars not to be serious of its historical values.
Pali was the spoken language of the 6th B.C. world ; the Buddha preached his sermons in Pali. It was the spoken language of the ancient Greeks and the Buddha was a Greek philosopher born in the Dan settlement of Kapilavastu which was then situated on the banks of the river Saraswati.
Ceylonese Kings were Kings of both the Indian history as well as the Kings of Roman history. It is a paradox of present day academic world that every research topic is now being treated in a patriotic spirit including the treatment of ancient history.
Government of Sri Lanka in its own way sees ancient Ceylon, Ojha-dvipa, Simhala, Taprobane, Sri Lanka, and Lanka as one and the same place. This is the main problem for ancient world history which is not considered as history of the ‘inhabited world’ itself where all ancient tribes shared a bit of their participation in making of the history of human civilization.
Ceylon is as same as Kolhana; King Vijaya was the first King in human history who migrated from Kalinga to Simhala dvipa in 6th c B.C. he reached along with two Yoginis(Yakshinis) in Simhala-dvipa on the same day when the Buddha died in Kushinagara. History of his migration remains till the present day an unconcerned academic matter. But scholars are happy making DNA study to find out the ancient migration in the South East Asia without Sri Lanka and India.
Many western scholars have expressed their anguish and have laughed away the history related to the Buddha and the 6th c B.C. world. This forms the base of academic ignorance on Pali texts where ‘Ancient City of Polonnaruwa’ is mentioned as Pulathipura, And this is the city that holds the ‘Key’ to the history of the ancient world. It is Palibothra of the Greeks and Palibothra is not Pataliputra of Indian history. Palibothra was central to both Romans and the Greeks. Its kings were the Kings of the ancient Rome. Kaduruwela defines the geographical situation of House of Cadmus or the Sage Kardama of Indian puranas. Most of the places mentioned in the Ceylonese Chronicles and the Pali texts are to be searched in ancient Kalinga only. Simhala–dvipa was the extended settlement of the ancient Romans. Kalinga Megha refers to Meghavahana Dynasty of Kharavela; and Meghas of Kalings were the Magis of the ancient and classical literature who were descendents of Sage Mogha.
