Sweden’s Royal Domain is known by the name of Drottningholm; this stands on the side of the Lake Malar and on Lovon island in Stockholm suburb. Historians find the style of this 18th century Royal Domain inspired by the Chateau of Versailles.
The historical setting of this site includes the Drottningholm Palace, the Palace Theatre, the Chinese Pavilion, the gardens and the facades of Malmen’s buildings. Special mention on the Chinese Pavilion meets the eye ‘with its incomparable combination of architecture, interior decoration and collections is a symbol of 18th century contacts between Europe and Asia. Together with Canton Village, .., this ensemble of buildings gives a comprehensive picture of court life during this era, with touches of influences from distant places’. According to Unesco’s observation, ‘The Royal Domain of Drottningholm has been an intercultural meeting place for centuries, from the time of its construction by architects and workers of different nationalities’.
Name Drottningholm finds its root in ‘Dattha’ means ‘family related to ‘Dhatarattha’ , a mythical king, whose name is found among other kings like, Vessamitta, Atthaka, Yamataggi, Usinara, and Sivi; there were two kings in this name; one of these two was king of Anga with his capital at Campa, and the other was king of Kasi with his capital at Benares.
Dhatarattha was also name of a Naga King or the Serpent King. Family of Datarattha is also identified with family of Hamsas(Sarasa means ‘swan’).
Chinese Pavilion and the Canton Village were a part of this Naga or the Serpent Clan which are identified with Chan and Kanti respectively on the Negev Plain which identifies the settlements of the Nagas.
Drottningholm thus identifies Drott-Ang-hamsa that defines their royal identity with ancient Ajodhya, means king of the ‘Four Quarters’ or the Chaturajaka’. They were the king of the whole of the ‘inhabited world’.
Sweden finds its root in the ancient ‘Aden’( of the Bible), ‘Eden’ (of the Bible), ‘Uden’(of Pali), ‘Udyan’ (of Pali), and ‘Uddiyan’(of Pali) which identifies a King, a Kingdom and a country and its people in the same name. So Sweden identifies itself with ‘-weden’ means Uden or Udyan means ‘Garden’.
