Finding Yugoslav, Macedonia, and Ohrid as one and the same place and putting three’s descriptive historical narratives on the plain of the river Ohrid is not only a great mistake, it causes distortion of world history which cannot be imagined today.
Unesco says town Ohrid situated on the bank of the river Ohrid marks one of the oldest human settlements in Europe. Slav monastery or the monastery of St Paltelejmon is considered as the oldest monastery dating to 11th c A.D.
Lake Ohrid in the language of Unesco’s website,’ as a deep and ancient lake of tectonic origin, (it) has existed continuously for approximately two to three million years’. Slav culture spread to other parts of Europe; and ‘seven basilicas which have been found in archaeological excavations in the old part of Ohrid were built during the 4th , 5th and beginning of the 6th c and contain architectural characteristics that indisputably point to a strong ascent and glory of Lychnidos, the former name of the town’.

Ohrid, according to Odiya language is ‘hrada’ means ‘Lake’

Scholars see Ohrid’s traditional local influence on its well preserved late Ottoman urban residential architecture dating from the 18th and 19th centuries.
Very interestingly, town Struga is located along the shores of Lake Ohrid but its urban life concentrates on the river Crn Drim. The important historical tone of the region reflects its spiritual heritage that paints its culture’s passage through different ages.
Name of Ohrid and name of Lichnidos are property of human civilization and that has been treated in a way which distorts the very base of humans’ origin. Lichnidos is exactly the same as Lychnis of Pliny and the Periplus that identifies the locality of a particular ‘stone’ in this name; it is also called tourmaline(PlinyXXXVII,29); but the real identity of the place finds them as a historic group of people called Lichien as same as Ta-t’sin or the Li-kin people who were then living on the ‘west’ at the edge of the earth, i.e. Romans; These people again are identified with Han Dynasty also.
Buddhist literature mention Lichnidos as Lichcchavis who were worshippers of the Lote Tree(of the Bible) and Lakuchi Tree( of Indian puranas. This is ancient identity of the Romans.
Buddhist texts see Ohind as same as Udaka-khanda or Wahand; Map of Eratosthenes very clearly has shown this place and its region.
So Unesco’s findings Ohrid and Lichnidos as same as Macedonia is incorrect as Macedonia is identified with Fish Country of the ancient world. Struga is as same as Shrughna of Buddhist literature.
