Located in the Washington State, this heritage site of Unesco remembers the ancient migrants who arrived here from the country of Olympia; the Olympic mountain range sits at the centre of the Olympic Peninsula. Its highest peak is Mt Olympus. In one way or the other, the heritage site keeps around it the hometown names of the ancient migrants which are located in a garlandlike manner in the Olympic Peninsula; this classical name Olympic, which famously scholars find at the centre of the history of the ancient Greece, does not necessarily a Greek name, rather it holds the whole of the ‘inhabited world’ with it not just the North Quarter of it.
The Olympic Peninsula is Washington’s large arm of the land on its western side that lies across Pugget Sount from Seattle. This is where the heritage site stands. It is bounded by the Pacific Ocean on the west; Strait of Juan de Fuca on the north; on the east is Hood Canal; Cape Alava comes on the westernmost end, and Cape Flattery is on the northwestern point of this peninsula.
